Online
guitar lessons are becoming somewhat popular. Acoustic guitar
lessons and electric guitar lessons are both offered from various
websites. There are some concerns that one should make certain are
addressed before taking up one of these programs.
While some of the advantages of having an in-person teacher cannot be
met online, the entire experience can be very gratifying and, if the
right venue is chosen, online lessons can be as effective as in-person
lessons.
Online guitar lessons really have much more to do with the student than
most people think. The key to successful learning is practice. An online lesson will
generally consist of some review, some new exercises and new practice
assignments. No matter how innovative the lessons may be, there is no
substitute for practice.
One must practice their assignment if one expects to make any
improvements in their playing. Take
the online lessons as seriously as one would real life lessons
and the results should be more than satisfactory. Remember that the
point of the lessons is to learn to play the guitar, not to spend time
on the Internet.
Remember to keep in touch with the instructor. While instructors offer
a great deal of information at online guitar lessons, it’s important to
ask them questions as they arise. Every student is different.
What worked for one student may not work for the next and the
instructor needs to know what they have to change about their methods
to accommodate new students. Practice what’s assigned and, if problems
arise, contact the instructor and ask for advice. Most often, one will
find that one’s problems are fairly common and that the instructor will
be more than willing to help one work them out!

I have found that the 'Jamorama' guitar course is the best learn
guitar program on the internet. The instructors are very knowledgeable
and helpful. The course consists of videos and manuals with all the
written theory in them. This course definitely helped me learn to play
guitar and I highly recommend it.
